A Little Amazon Help

Since I have gotten so many questions on how to download The Last Navigator from Amazon, I decided to put together a brief “how-to” for Amazon and Amazon Kindle. All of this information can be found on Amazon.com and I will include links to the content if you want more information as well. The Last Navigator is actually quite easy to get your hands on, especially in this day and age where most people have a computer, smart phone, or tablet within arms reach. Below I am going to give a step by step guide on how to find the book, setting up an account, and downloading a Kindle Reading app to be able to read the book on one of the many devices for which Amazon offers a free application. You can easily access The Last Navigator by clicking on the picture below which will take you to the book product page on Amazon.com.

How-To Download and Use Amazon Kindle Reading Apps for Smart Phones, Tablets, and Computers:

Amazon offers free reading apps for a variety of devices. You can find all of the devices that Amazon has apps for here. Below I have included a link to a YouTube video which I found to be very helpful on how to download, set up, and get started on the Kindle App for iPad.

How-To Gift an Amazon Kindle Book:

*The following information is directly from Amazon.com.

Most Kindle books available for purchase in the Kindle Store can be given as a gift to anyone with an e-mail address. You do not need a Kindle device to send or receive Kindle book gifts, and the recipient can read their gift on a registered Kindle device or any free Kindle reading application.

To gift a Kindle book, click the Give as a Gift button located under the Buy button on Kindle Store product detail pages. You can also gift Kindle books through your recipient’s Amazon Wishlist. Note that free books, books on pre-order, and other subscription content cannot be gifted at this time.

To complete your Kindle Book gift order:

  1. Enter the personal e-mail address for your gift recipient. You can also choose to send the gift to your own e-mail address, and forward the e-mail directly to your recipient or print the e-mail and personally deliver it to your recipient.
  2. Enter a delivery date. If you don’t select a delivery date, the e-mail will be delivered immediately.
  3. Enter an optional gift message.  If you’d like to preview the notification your recipient will receive, click the Preview your gift message button.
  4. Click the Place your order button to finish your gift purchase using your Kindle 1-Click payment method.

Note: Make sure you enter the personal e-mail address for your gift recipient, not their kindle.com e-mail address.

Gift Notification

Your gift recipient will be notified of their gift at the e-mail address you provide. We will send a notification at the time the gift order is placed.

How-To Receive an Amazon Kindle Book Gift:

*The following information is directly from Amazon.com.

Congratulations, you received a Kindle book gift! You can download the book to your Kindle device or a free Kindle reading application.

To download a book you received as a gift:

  1. Open the e-mail message you received about your gift and click the Get your Kindle Book Gift Now button. Your web browser will launch and automatically take you to your gift on Amazon.com.
  2. Click the Accept Kindle Gift button and log into your Amazon.com account if prompted.  You may also be prompted to enter a billing address to verify your location only (there is no charge associated with accepting a Kindle book gift).
  3. If you do not yet have a Kindle device or Kindle reading application, you will have the opportunity to download a free reading application after you accept your gift.
  4. If you are already a Kindle user, just select the device that you would like the gift delivered to from the drop-down menu.

If you are still having problems downloading the book, feel free to contact me using the form on the Contact page. Below are the links to the Amazon.com help pages from which most of this content was taken.
